Being built together in Christ includes teenagers. They are not only the future, they are the now. During these most formative years, we want to care for our students by helping them grow in their biblical understanding and relationships with each other.
In this season of ministry we're trying a new approach to Sunday morning Bible study. We are a multi-generational church and believe God's design for people is to learn from from those who are ahead of us, beside us, and coming up behind us. On Sunday mornings we begin our time together at 9am all together. That's right! Men, women, boys, and girls togetherhearing the same core teaching. When that teaching concludes we break up into groups based on age to continue discussing what was taught. Kids have their own curriculum taught by adults. Students get time together to discuss how what they've heard applies to their lives. This discussion is led by adults who are ready to disciple our teenagers!
As we gather each Sunday, we'll explore one question from "The New City Catechism." The New City Catechism is a mordern-day resource aimed at helping children and adults alike learn the cored doctrines of the Christian faith via 52 questions and answers. The NCC is rooted in Scripture, therefore as we look at our weekly question, we're also digging into the Bible and discussion with one another as we apply it to our lives.
