Salvation

What is a Living Stone anyway? Isn't that an oxymoron? It's a good question!

We often say that God didn't send Jesus to make bad people into good people or even to make good people into better people. God gave Jesus to make dead people into living people. A stone, by itself, is a lifeless object, much like we are apart from Jesus. But by putting his or her faith in Jesus for salvation, a person is given new life and made into a living stone.

Simply put, a living stone is a person who has received God's gift of salvation by faith by turning from their sin and trusting Jesus for forgiveness. This salvation reconnects you with God and assures you of eternal life - which is a life committed to following Jesus through the ups and downs, and growing to be like Him, awaiting the hope of heaven.

At Living Stones we believe that no one can earn salvation by simply being a good person or following a bunch of rules. It is only by God's grace that a person is saved. That also means that no one is beyond the reach of salvation. No one. That means you.

If you're considering following Jesus, want to reconnect with God, or simply want to have someone listen to your questions, we warmly invite you to stop by some time or get in touch with our pastor.

Baptism

Instagram Posts

We believe that baptism is an outward sign of an inward reality. When God redeems a person, he or she is inwardly transformed and given new life. Baptism is a picture of this new life. Just as Jesus was taken off the cross and put the tomb and three days later raised to new life, baptism is a symbol of identification with Jesus in this way. Being raised out of the water symbolically shows that sin is washed away and now we walk in new life.

If you have trusted Jesus as your Savior and want to follow Him in baptism, we would love to talk further with you about your next steps.

The Bible tells us that in Christ we are members of one another. If you have trusted Jesus as your Savior you are "in Christ" and part of His people - the Church. Living Stones Church is a local expression of God's people. Being a member of Living Stones means that you are committing to joining with other followers of Jesus here that we might grow together.
