Reconnecting People to God

Scripture: Ephesians 2:11–22

Ephesians 2:11-13 paints a powerful picture of our spiritual journey—from being separated from Christ, alienated, strangers to God's promises, hopeless, and without God, to being brought near through the blood of Christ. This reconnection isn't achieved through our efforts but through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, eliminating the disconnection caused by sin.A reconnected life with God transforms us from strangers to fellow citizens in God's household. Being a Christian isn't passive—it's an active way of life that produces good works and bears fruit. This journey requires community, as none of us reach spiritual maturity alone. The moves of God in our lives are largely connected to relationships with other Christ-followers who encourage, challenge, speak truth, motivate, and pray for us.Like hikers who leave stone cairns to mark trails, we're called to be spiritual markers for others, helping them reconnect with God. This happens through making disciples, building intentional relationships within the church, extending connections to families, reaching out to communities, and impacting the world. In a culture with competing worldviews and post-pandemic isolation, the church must serve as clear markers pointing to Jesus, helping people navigate their spiritual journey through life-on-life discipleship rather than mere information gathering.
