Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. -Hebrews 12:1-2
It takes great strength and endurance to successfully run a marathon, but it also takes a lot of preparation and self-discipline. No untrained person can decide to run a marathon and then immediately be 100% ready (let alone good at it.) The verse above reflects our goal to raise up Christ-centered, spiritually mature, students who are examples in life, love, and faith. Growing in Christ is not a destination, but a journey of faith taking place every day. We seek to come alongside students as they are running their own “marathon” with their life in Christ. Worshipping together, having fun, learning more about the Bible, and small groups help to give students a community of faith that can guide them towards an authentic and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. The student ministry team strives to push students towards knowing Christ as true worshipers, seeking Christ as true disciples, and serving Christ as true missionaries.
Marathon meets on Sunday at 6 pm- 8pm and is for students 6th-12th grade.
Youth Bible Study meets at 9 am on Sunday morning during the Sunday School hour.
The student ministry is led by Pastor Drew Smyser.
